Qatar Airways Cargo has selected SAL Saudi Logistics Services to provide cargo handling services at Saudi Arabia’s main airports, including Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and Medina.

The handler said that the deal reflected a growing number of partnerships with large airlines.

Hesham Alhussayen, chief executive of SAL, said: “This agreement will enhance logistical operations between Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Moreover, given Qatar Airways’ global reach and substantial shipping capacity, we look forward to providing it with cargo ground handling services to the highest international standards.”

Guillaume Halleux, chief officer cargo at Qatar Airways added: “Through our agreement with SAL Saudi Logistics Services, we will be offering fast and efficient handling for all types of cargo including cool chain cargo at Saudi Arabia’s main airports.”

It is the second contract win for SAL in the last few months. In mid-September the handling and logistics company signed an agreement with Gulf Air to provide ground handling solutions at Saudi Arabia’s main airports.
