Validation platform Validaide has appointed industry stalwart Bart Pouwels as chief commercial officer.

Pouwels has held several roles in logistics and air cargo and recently worked as head of cargo at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. He was also industry manager lifesciences at DHL Express.

As chief commercial officer, Pouwels will lead the company’s sales & marketing activities towards a “growing customer base that includes all stakeholders in global pharmaceutical logistics”.

“During his tenure at Schiphol Airport Bart was instrumental to maintain the airport’s position as one of Europe’s leading cargo airports,” Validaide said.

“He also initiated several activities at and around Schiphol resulting in a strong pharma airport and a pharma community.”

Pouwels said: “In the last few years I have seen how Validaide has become the leading digital application for Lane Risk Assessments, built upon a unique digital community of more than 1,000 logistics companies that define and share critical pharmaceutical capabilities.

“This has already proven to be extremely valuable to make pharmaceutical logistics more flexible and efficient, while at the same time maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. Many people in the logistics industry talk about collaboration and transparency, but Validaide is one of the companies that is turning this vision into reality.

“I am very excited to join the team at this moment and contribute to its further growth. For me it’s clear: the future is digital.”
