TIACA announces sustainability award winners and hall of fame entrant

Airfreight supply chain group TIACA has announced that LATAM Cargo and Regent Craft have won its sustainability awards, run in partnership with Champ Cargo Systems, while Jean-Claude Delen has been inducted into its hall of fame.

A jury of five industry leaders selected LATAM Cargo as the winner of the award for corporate and established businesses.

The carrier won for its Necessary Destination programme, which is a comprehensive and robust compendium of initiatives that aim to drive sustainable development in South America through three pillars: Climate Change, Circular Economy and Shared Value.

Cristina Oñate, vice president of marketing and product development at LATAM Cargo, said: “As a group, we have set ambitious goals because we believe this is a necessity, not an option.

“This strategy and our objectives are the roadmap we’ve outlined to fulfill this priority. We are grateful to Tiaca for this recognition as it reinforces that we are on the right path and motivates us to continue working in our commitment to the planet and society.”

Regent Craft won the start-up/small business award and will receive a cash prize of $10,000.

Pledge and VRR Collapsible were the runners-up and will receive $2,500 each.

Hall of fame

Meanwhile, Jean-Claude Delen, former chief executive Benelux and France for DHL Global Forwarding and former president of FIATA was added to the Hall of Fame this week during the Executive Summit held at Brussels airport.

“Jean-Claude Delen has made huge impacts within air cargo by shining a light on the freight forwarding community and pushing for an industry that works together cohesively. We are proud to have inducted Jean-Claude into the Hall of Fame,” said Sebastiaan Scholte, chair of TIACA’s chairman’s council.
