FedEx Express has opened new regional headquarters in Singapore to support its operations in Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa.

This new facility aims to help position the company to manage some of the fastest growing markets in the world, as well as accelerate its own growth.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by a range of guests, including Singapore’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Vivian Balakrishnan; US Ambassador to Singapore, Jonathan Kaplan; and chairman of the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), Png Cheong Boon.

Global FedEx leaders, including Raj Subramaniam, president and chief executive of FedEx, and Richard Smith, president and chief executive, Airline and Internationalat FedEx Express, were also present.

“This is a strategic step in connecting businesses in our vast region with greater speed and agility,” said Kawal Preet, president of Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa, FedEx Express.

“Singapore’s geographic advantages make it a natural gateway which allows us to tap the immense opportunities presented by the fast-moving markets of the region, especially in Southeast Asia. As companies look to build more resilience in their supply chains, this move underlines our commitment to enhance the region’s logistics infrastructure.”

FedEx said it will continue to actively collaborate with local authorities to boost logistics capabilities, directly invest in logistics networks across the region, and share industrial expertise and technology to elevate logistics operations standards.

“We welcome the new FedEx regional headquarters to Singapore. This move is a vote of confidence in Singapore as a key global hub for trade, logistics, and connectivity, and the key role that Singapore plays in strengthening the resilience of global supply chains,” said Balakrishnan.

Singapore is already the location of the FedEx South Pacific hub that serves as a central point for company operations across Southeast Asia, and the FedEx Life Science Center providing specialist cold chain solutions for the healthcare sector.

FedEx has also established a Center of Excellence for Data Analytics in the city, which applies advanced digital technology to develop new solutions that make supply chains smarter.
