Sultan switches from cargo to passenger at Emirates

Nabil Sultan, Emirates Divisional Senior Vice President Cargo

Nabil Sultan is leaving Emirates SkyCargo to head over to the airline’s passenger business.

Currently Emirates SkyCargo divisional senior vice president, Sultan will take on the role of executive VP – passenger sales and country management at Emirates from March 1.

“No announcement has been made” for Sultan’s replacement yet, Emirates told Air Cargo News.

Sultan has worked for Emirates for over 33 years, accumulating a wealth of experience across the operations of the business.

Having carried out various management and leadership roles, in 2009 he was appointed to the role of divisional senior vice president, revenue optimisation and distribution for the airline.

Then in 2013 he took on his current job. In the decade he has been in the role, Sultan has successfully helped Emirates SkyCargo grow. In recent years, his efforts have included steering the business through the challenging pandemic years, and the period of lower air cargo demand that has followed.

Emirates has promoted 19 executives in total.

HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman and chief executive, Emirates Airline and Group, said: “Keeping pace with Dubai’s vision for growth and prosperity, the Emirates Group has also set clear and ambitious plans for fleet, network, and business growth for the next 15 years.

“To effectively execute these plans, the Group is strengthening its executive bench, together with internal business and operational alignment. I am pleased to announce these senior appointments, all of whom are long-serving leaders within the organisation who continue to contribute to the growth and success of Emirates and dnata.”
