Forwarder ICL opens in Rotterdam

Freight forwarder International Cargo Logistics (ICL) has opened a new office in Rotterdam as part of expansion plan to develop perishables operations in Europe.

ICL, whose headquarters is at London Heathrow airport in the UK, operates in over 207 countries and has over 50,000sq m of logistics and storage facilities 1,500 employees.

As well as perishables, it is also active in sectors including packaging, fashion, aerospace and automotive. It offers multimodal forwarding services worldwide, including air, as well as sea and surface transport.

ICL chief executive, Yoav Izhari, said the new location would leverage Rotterdam’s position as a logistics hub. The new site is close to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and Rotterdam seaport, Europe’s largest, as well as the world’s biggest flower auction at Aalsmeer. “This move aligns with our commitment to better serve our clients by providing localised support and streamlining our operations,” Izhari explained.

Netherlands chief executive of, Ron Rombout, added: “Our presence in Rotterdam represents an exciting opportunity to deepen our connections with existing clients, and foster new business relationships across western Europe. Our expertise, joint with our location in Rotterdam, will allow us to continue delivering exceptional service, while contributing to ICL’s global success.”

The next phase of its expansion plan will be in South East Asia, starting with a Vietnam office.
