Penseel heads back to airline role with Delta move

Peter Penseel will move back to the airline industry after being appointed as senior vice president and president of Delta Cargo.

He starts the new role on June 1 and will be responsible for “driving revenue and profitable growth, delivering industry-leading customer service, and ensuring operational excellence within Delta’s Cargo business”.

Penseel has worked in the airfreight industry for more than 30 years and has held positions in both the freight forwarding and the airline sides of the industry.

He joins from CEVA Logistics were he held the role of chief operating officer for the airfreight business and has also held roles at Qatar Airways Cargo, DHL Global Forwarding and UTi Worldwide.

Delta said that while Penseel worked for CEVA, he spearheaded the launch of in-house cargo capacity.

“Peter will leverage his extensive knowledge and established history of effective leadership to accelerate Delta Cargo’s progress as an innovative and world-class air cargo carrier,” Delta said.

Penseel will relocate to Delta’s global headquarters in Atlanta.
