Air Canada Cargo adds Chicago to freighter network

Air Canada Cargo will add Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) to its freighter network from June 2.
The service will operate three times per week (Wednesday, Friday, Sunday) with a Boeing 767 freighter, connecting Air Canada Cargo’s global hub at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) with its self-handled warehouse operation at ORD.

Earlier this month, Air Canada launched four Boeing 787-9 flights a week connecting Vancouver and Singapore Changi airports, with SATS providing cargo handling services at Singapore Changi.
The airline is yet to release its first quarter results, however, Air Canada’s full year 2023 cargo revenues declined 27% year on year due to reduced air cargo demand and a loss of capacity in the form of temporary passenger freighters (preighters).
The airline said the decline of C$342m was partially offset by increased operations of purpose-built freighters in Air Canada Cargo.
