Cargojet completes Canada Post switch

Overnight airfreight operator Cargojet has completed the transfer of the Canada Post group business to its network.
A new domestic air cargo network services contract for the Canada Post and Purolator brands across Canada came into full effect from April, initially for seven years but with options to extend for a further nine years.
Canada’s Cargojet has expanded its all-cargo fleet to handle the new business, adding 12 B757-200F and B767-300F aircraft. The fleet now consists of five B767-300ERs, five B767-200ERs, five B757-200ERs and nine B727-AFs.
Cargojet’s president and chief executive, Ajay Virmani, said: “The enhancements to our air cargo network will not only provide significant additional capacity but also provide operating efficiencies and improved service levels to all customers, with more direct flights; later departures and earlier arrivals, at locations across Canada.”
