Canadian North combi convert takes a bow

North American passenger and cargo carrier Canadian North has taken delivery of a B737-300QC combi.
The passenger jet was converted by aircraft maintenance and repair specialist KF Aerospace in collaboration with US-based PEMCO, an established B737 passenger to freighter (P2F) company.
PEMCO’s B737-300QC Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) was used as a platform, along with KF’s newly awarded Canadian STC, resulting in a multi-configuration 737-300QC convertible aircraft.
Said PEMCO: “This distinctive STC design will meet the unique requirements of Canadian North.”
Pastor Lopez, chief executive of PEMCO, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity to expand our brand presence and gain vast exposure in an evolving market.”
The 737-300QC aircraft has three configurations: all-cargo, with a 20,412kg capacity; combi, with 80 seats and three cargo pallets; or all-passenger, with 136 seats.
Pastor Lopez of PEMCO is interviewed in the latest issue of Freighters World
