Freight forwarder Toll expands German presence

Toll Global Forwarding has expanded its presence in Germany through the creation of two new branches in Germany.
The Japan Post-owned forwarder, part of the Toll Group, will open the two new forwarding offices in Munich and Nuremberg.
The Munich office opened today while the Nuremberg facility will be operational from October 30.
The two new branches will expand on those already in Germany – with existing branches in Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hannover and Stuttgart.
Toll Global Forwarding’s country manager for Germany, Uwe Jacobsen said Munich and Nuremberg branches, both located in the single largest state of Germany, had the potential to further grow the business, especially in the automotive, electronics, fashion and machinery sectors.
“The new branch offices will offer a more comprehensive network of international freight forwarding, and advanced supply chain management services, across Toll’s global network operating throughout Europe as well as Asia, North America, Africa, Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East,” the forwarder said.
Japan Post’s takeover of Toll was announced in February this year and marked the beginning of a busy year for takeovers and acquisitions in the freight forwarder market.
