UPS to offer cryogenic airfreight service in Europe

Integrator UPS is now offering European customers a cryogenic shipping service through the use of specialist containers.
The service, which is available on airfreight services as well as other modes of transport, uses cryogenic containers from Cryoport which use liquid nitrogen stored in dry vapour form to keep products frozen at -150°C for 10 days while in transit or storage.
The service also includes real-time tracking and intervention to improve visibility of product as it transits through the supply chain.
The service will be utilised by companies specialising in tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, gene therapy, biopharmaceutical research and reproductive health.
