United becomes a DHL cool carrier

United Cargo has won one of the first DHL carrier awards for reliability and excellence. Aiming to set a new industry standard for air transport of temperature-sensitive life science products, the accolade was presented at DHL’s recent Global Life Sciences and Healthcare Conference in Miami.
Award winners were ranked on performance, attention to quality and innovative leadership, along with shipment temperature consistency, communication, process compliance, airport hub assessments and data sharing.
United recently upgraded its Wednesday New York-Newark-San Juan flight to a Boeing 767-400.
It has also added San Juan, Strasbourg and Stuttgart to its TempControl handling network, bringing the number of locations to 62.
