Finnair upgrades Helsinki-Heathrow connection

Finnair is to move to an all-A350 XWB operation on its Helsinki-London Heathrow service.
The link is currently flown three times a week by A350 and twice a week by A320, but from 5 October Finnair will use the A350 on all five weekly frequencies.
According to the airline, switching to the wide-body A350 on all five frequencies will allow it “to meet the increased demand for capacity and cargo on this busy route”.
“We are delighted to offer our cargo customers additional regular capacity to/from London Heathrow with the ultra-modern Airbus A350XWB", enthused Fredrik Wildtgrube, Finnair Cargo’s head of global sales.
Finnair Cargo also offers a shared freighter service with IAG Cargo between Helsinki and London once a week on Saturdays.
Finnair has 19 A350 aircraft on order and plans to phase out its A340 aircraft by the end of 2017, leaving the entire wide-body fleet comprised only of A330 and A350 aircraft.
