AMI handles football tour

Airfreight and express wholesaler AMI (a Menzies Aviation company) recently supported the Canadian National Ladies’ Football Team’s mini tours of Europe and Scandinavia, arranging Customs clearance, collection and transportation of more than 40 bags and sports/training equipment on behalf of the freight forwarder involved.
Maeve Glass of the Canadian Soccer Association said: “Due to the nature of our travel and requirements, our logistics are more complicated than most ventures. Beginning from Vancouver to Lisbon, then to the Algarve, to Amsterdam, to Malmo and finally to Jena [Germany] and back to Vancouver, it was seamless.”
AMI vice president – Continental Europe Rinaldo Veis described the operation as “a perfect illustration of AMI’s full, integrated capabilities: handling detailed Customs procedures, tracking cargo, arranging road transport and express door-to-door deliveries, providing storage and coordinating ground handling – in addition to our ’normal’ work of booking freight onto the carrier.”
