SkyCargo latest to receive Cargo iQ certification

Hot on the heels of the IATA Cargo iQ certifications awarded on March 13 (to Menzies Aviation, Qatar Airways Cargo and Kuehne + Nagel), Emirates SkyCargo has also received the seal of approval during the World Cargo Symposium currently under way in Dallas, Texas.
IATA’s external auditor SGS looked at the Dubai-based carrier’s internal processes, including measures taken to reduce shipment errors and provide customers with more visibility on the status of their shipments.
Emirates SkyCargo became a member of Cargo iQ in 2016 to further reinforce its service standards including its ‘Delivered as Promised’ commitment.
The carrier’s dedicated Cargo Operations Control Centre (COCC) uses live shipment data and Cargo iQ metrics to track the progress of a shipment’s journey against its routemap and the delivery commitment created at the time of booking.
Any deviation generates an alert, which allows the COCC to intervene proactively and in real time, and take corrective measures at any point from origin to destination, Emirates SkyCargo said.
Nabil Sultan, Emirates divisional senior vice president, cargo, commented: “Getting the Cargo iQ certification and the setting up of our 24/7 Cargo Operations Control Centre are the first steps in a journey where we can be more transparent and at the same time more proactively support our customer promises.”

“With every Cargo iQ member that becomes accredited, we are another step towards a supply chain that is transparent and in control of its shipments,” Zimmerman added.
