Air France seeks to end strike impasse

Air France management said on 10 April that it had offered trade unions multi-year pay negotiations between 2019 and 2021 in an effort to find a solution to ongoing strikes that have been disrupting flights over the past few days.
The carrier said it had offered general salary increases for 2018, in addition to 2019, 2020 and 2021 as part of a "growth pact".
There would be an additional increase of 1% during 2018, bringing the overall increase to 2%, followed by increases of 3.6% in 2019, 2020 and 2021.
Air France said last week that two-day stoppages were expected to affect 40% of long-haul flights, 35% of medium-haul flights from Paris Charles de Gaulle and 25% of short-haul flights from Paris Orly and French provinces.
Two more days of two-day stoppages are planned over the coming weeks.
