HNA Group co-founder Wang dies after an accident in France

Wang Jian, co-founder and chairman of Chinese conglomerate HNA Group, has died in an accident while on a business trip in Provence, France.
Bloomberg, quoting a police source in France, said that Wang, aged 57, died on Tuesday morning after falling from a 15-meter high cliff while having his photograph taken in Bonnieux.
The death is not being viewed as suspicious, the officer told Bloomberg.
HNA Group’s board and management team, led by co-founder and chairman Chen Feng and chief executive Adam Tan, issued the following statement: “HNA Group extends deepest condolences to Mr Wang’s family and many friends.
"Together, we mourn the loss of an exceptionally gifted leader and role model, whose vision and values will continue to be a beacon for all who had the good fortune to know him, as well as for the many others whose lives he touched through his work and philanthropy.”
HNA has been one of the fastest growing corporate entities in China, with interests affiliated with Suparna Airlines, formerly Yangtze River Airlines, and several other logistics businesses, including cargo ground handler Swissport and German hub Frankfurt-Hahn.
