dnata granted GDP certification at Zurich

Ground handler dnata has been awarded Good Distribution Practice (GDP) certification for pharma handling at the company’s facility in Zurich, Switzerland.
Dubai-headquartered dnata “completely refurbished” one of its Zurich Airport warehouses, while also making “significant enhancements to its quality systems, operations documentation and facilities management practices”.
The European Commission’s GDP certification relates to the wholesale distribution of medicinal products and ensuring their quality and integrity is maintained throughout the supply chain, right from the manufacturer to the end user.
It focuses on systems for warehouses and distribution centres that store and distribute products that are medicinal or carry active pharmaceutical ingredients.
Dnata has achieved GDP certification at its Amsterdam, London, Manchester and Singapore facilities, as well as IATA’s Center of Excellence for Independent Validators in pharma logistics (CEIV Pharma) certification at Amsterdam, Dubai and Singapore.
Roger Gutzwiller, GDP/pharma manager cargo, dnata Switzerland, observed: “Over the past years we’ve significantly invested in our operations to meet the highest standards in quality and safety and with today’s announcement and the constant growth of our customer base our efforts are clearly paying off.
“We stay committed to providing service excellence to all of our more than 30 air cargo customers every day,” he added.
