MASkargo keeps MotoGP on schedule

MASkargo has carried out three charter flights ahead of the Malaysian leg of the 2018 FIM MotoGP World Championship, taking place over the first weekend in November.
The first of the three Airbus A330-200 freighter services brought equipment from Tokyo Narita to Kuala Lumpur, followed by two flights from Melbourne’s Avalon airport to the Malaysian capital.
In total, the Malaysian carrier moved 150 tonnes of team equipment and support gear for the event – as well as the BMW M3 MotoGP safety car. Its ground crew then loaded the shipments onto trucks for onward transportation to the Sepang International Circuit.
“Race equipment charters work on a very tight schedule,” said Jason Thomas, MASkargo chief commercial officer.
He added: “All equipment must arrive at the destination on Wednesday as setting up of the garages needs to be completed by Thursday. Friday and Saturday are practice days for the main event on Sunday.
“As such the team at MASkargo work very closely with the organiser’s logistics team to ensure the seamless movement of this equipment. Our experience in moving race equipment over the years has made us one of the preferred carriers during the circuit."
