Blue Dart reports Q2 profit as expansion continues

Indian express logistics services provider Blue Dart has posted $2.9m profit after tax for the quarter ended September. Revenue from operations for the quarter stood at $107.8m, it confirmed.
The Mumbai-headquartered company, part of the Deutsche Post DHL Group, has been working hard to strengthen its presence across India. Earlier this year it opened a new state-of-the-art airfreight facility in Chennai to help improve transit times, for example.
Managing director Anil Khanna said: “Blue Dart is focused on its goal to continuously deliver at every touch point in Blue Dart country.
“Since January, we have embarked on our mission to expand our footprint to 19,100+ pin codes and reach every Indian home by December 2018. As part of the expansion, we are making extensive investments in infrastructure, additional manpower and enabled revolutionised technology and automation to drive business intelligence and create value for our customers and stakeholders.”
Khanna noted that Blue Dart’s strategy is in line with the Government’s Make in India vision, as well as various state initiatives, aimed at enabling business and boosting employment opportunities across the country.
