ANA to add transpacific service with new B777F aircraft

Japanese airline ANA will add a new transpacific freighter service this year as it takes delivery of its first B777Fs.
The new transpacific B777F service will be launched on October 27, flying between Narita and Chicago. The frequency has yet to be decided.
The carrier also announced it would launch a new six-times-per-week regional service with a rotation of Narita, Kansai, Shanghai, Narita, using a mix of B777F and B767-300F capacity.
"Cargo demand between Asia and North America is expected to increase over the medium to long term and ANA will respond with the introduction of a Boeing 777F aircraft capable of transporting large cargo," the airline said.
In March last year, ANA announced the order of two B777Fs for delivery this year in "response to the "expanding market in Asia, China, and North America".
The move is most likely linked to the announcement that ANA and Nippon Cargo Airlines (NCA) had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to build a strategic business partnership.
ANA currently operates a fleet of 12 B767-300Fs.
