CEVA launches multi-use solar energy Italian base

GlOBAL supply chain management company CEVA Logistics has opened an environmentally-friendly, multi-purpose logistics hub in Italy, to serve the electronics industry there.
The 90,000-sq m TechCity, strategically located at Pognano, in the province of Bergamo, can handle all supply chain activities including the consolidation of small pieces with Full Truck Load (FTL) transport, and technical courier services.
The facility boasts a security system specifically designed for this sector, says a company statement.
The facility is equipped with a photovoltaic (solar energy) system that can produce 3,200 MWh per year – equivalent to the annual consumption of 1,200 homes – saving on average about 170 tonnes of CO2 emissions, it adds.
TechCity’s opening comes after the CEVA launch of the City of Books in 2010 and the City of Pharma in 2013 – multi-user hubs dedicated to the publishing and healthcare sectors.
