Aeroflot enjoys freight surge

Aeroflot Group recorded a 65.3% increase in international cargo and mail carried in the first ten months of the year, to 218,718 tonnes, according to the Russian carrier’s October figures. Revenue cargo tonne kilometres were also up sharply, by 72.2%.
Domestic cargo performance was more muted, up 12.7% in terms of tonnes carried, and 8.2% in revenue tonne-km terms. Total (international and domestic) cargo carried for the ten months was up 37%.
The group also enjoyed a 16.3% increase in passengers in the first ten months of 2017, to 42.6m.
