Qatar Airways adds Izmir link

Qatar Airways has introduced thrice-weekly Airbus A320 flights from Doha to Izmir, its seventh destination in Turkey.

The airline’s freighter-carrying division also benefits from belly capacity to Adana, Ankara, Sabiha Gökçen and Istanbul. In addition, it operates three weekly Boeing 777 Freighter services to Istanbul.

Qatar Airways said: “With the launch of flights to and from Izmir, Qatar Airways Cargo will offer direct cargo capacity for perishable exports such as fresh fish and fruits out of Izmir. Trucking services will also be offered both ways between Izmir and Istanbul.”

All in all, that equates to more than 50 tonnes of capacity per month to and from Izmir.

The carrier intends to add belly capacity to Antalya soon, too.
