Cathay Cargo wins AirAsia Hong Kong contract

CATHAY Pacific Services Ltd (CPSL) has been appointed as handling agent for AirAsia’s cargo operations at the Cathay Cargo Terminal in Hong Kong.
“We are fastidious about cost efficiency and competency in every aspect of our operations and are glad to find a compatible partner like CPSL which recognises our operational needs and has a good understanding of our business model,” enthuses Berhad Ms Aireen Omar, chief executive of AirAsia.
“Cargo is one of the important revenue streams for us and it is crucial to have a partner which adds more value to our services. What we do is challenge the conventional perception that low-cost carriers are unsuitable for cargo, due to quick turnaround times.
“With CPSL on board, we look forward to quashing that perception further and changing the face of the cargo industry.”
Algernon Yau, chief executive of CPSL, adds: “Offering reliable and efficient services to all customers is at the heart of our business strategy at the Cathay Pacific Cargo Terminal.
“It is our goal to raise overall industry standards and support the growth of all customer airlines using the terminal’s services. We will continue to develop these services and help sustain Hong Kong’s competitiveness as the preferred airfreight hub in Asia,” he adds.
