Delta Cargo has approved the use of Envirotainer’s Releye RLP container on its aircraft as it looks to meet rising pharma demand.

The approval means the US airline can now transport the Releye temperature-controlled ULD, which was launched last year, across its network.

Jannie Davel, managing director cargo commercial at Delta Cargo, said: “The introduction of the Releye RLP, in combination with our CEIV certified pharma network, provides our customers with more choice when looking for reliable container options to support the growing demand for pharma and vaccine shipments”

The unit uses rechargeable batteries, with a single battery charge able to power the system for over 170 hours.

It also offers live monitoring for product condition, location, temperature, humidity, battery levels, door openings, if cargo is loaded or not and the progress of shipments.

Don Harrison, head of global key accounts, airlines at Envirotainer, added: “With the new Releye RLP, Delta Cargo can offer their customers the latest active fully connected solution to protect the integrity and quality of air freight medicine products throughout the supply chain.”
