EgyptAir Cargo resumes Egypt-US flights

EgyptAir Cargo flights from Egypt to the US have resumed after a hiatus of more than eight years, according to Egypt’s Ministry of Civil Aviation.
This follows the completion of inspections and a review of security measures by the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) at Cairo International Airport, as well as for EgyptAir passenger and cargo flights, stated a press release.
The clearance means that all types of shipments can now be flown by EgyptAir Cargo to the US.
The TSA delegation noted improved security, safety and insurance measures taken by Cairo International Airport and EgyptAir, according to the Ministry.
Lieutenant General Mohamed Abbas Helmy, Minister of Civil Aviation “pointed out that the Ministry of Aviation is keen to implement all additional security measures within the civil aviation work system, as well as securing individuals, facilities and flights at the highest levels”, said the release.
“He explained that there is continuous training for all security personnel in various work sites, where they are trained at a high level in all security specialties in order to complete the security procedures followed and the safety of security procedures and apply them with high accuracy within the Egyptian civil aviation sector in line with international standards and specifications”.
According to EgyptAir Cargo’s website, the airline currently operates Airbus A330-200 passenger to freighter (P2F) aircraft, in addition to its passenger fleet.
