Ethiopian and Western Global hope to partner on US mail to Africa

Ethiopian Airlines has applied to the US Department of Transportation to begin a code share agreement with all-cargo airline Western Global for the transportation of US mail to Africa.
The African airline hopes to be able to display Western Global’s KD designator code on its flights once the US cargo airline’s contract with the US Postal Service starts.
If successful, Ethiopian will be able to carry US mail to a list of destinations in Africa from the origins Newark Liberty, JFK, Los Angeles and O’Hare International.
In late August, Ethiopian Airlines inaugurated its first-ever scheduled freighter service to Miami International Airport.
