EU safety watchdog gives Air Astana the all-clear

Kazakhstan’s Air Astana says it has been formally removed from a list of airlines with operating restrictions in the EU. It followed an outright ban by the EU’s Air Safety Committee on all other carriers in the country in July 2009. Air Astana was allowed to continue flying but had a cap imposed on the number of services it could operate, restrictions which were lifted in February 2014.
