Finnair Cargo restarts flights to LAX and ORD

Finnair Cargo has resumed flights to Los Angeles International Airport and (LAX) and Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD).

Both services will start operating this week, with two weekly frequencies.

Earlier this week, the carrier added its cargo capacity to the digital platform CargoAi. Finnair Cargo said the move will “guarantee visibility” and is in line with its sales digitalisation strategy.

Last month, the carrier also listed its capacity on online booking portal WebCargofor its customers in the US and Europe.

WebCargo said the move reflects an overall increase in the adoption of digital technologies due to the fall out from Covid — less cargo capacity, increased e-commerce demand, and a shift to air due to high ocean rates.

The portal said it now represents more than 22% of global air cargo capacity.
