US startup 7Air Cargo is preparing to begin operations with a deal to add two 737-800SFs to its fleet.

In a LinkedIn post on February 13, the Miami-based soon to be freighter operator said: “7Air secures two B737-800SFs as we enter the final stage of the approval process.”

The airline did not provide any further information about the aircraft, however, it shared a LinkedIn post from Cargo Facts, which said that the aircraft are on lease from Connecticut, US-based lessor Aircastle.

7Air Cargo did not confirm exactly when operations would begin, but last September, Air Cargo News (ACN) reported that the airline aimed to launch regional cargo services this month.

The airline was anticipated to launch with a single 737F rather than two, and was expected to add a further three 737Fs within the first year of operations.

ACN has requested confirmation on 7Air Cargo’s plans for future aircraft.
