Air Canada Cargo begins Costa Rica freighter service

Air Canada Cargo has started freighter flights into San José, Costa Rica using a Boeing 767-300 converted freighter.
The flights to Juan Santamaría International Airport will operate twice per week, said the cargo carrier.
“The start of our freighter operations into Costa Rica builds upon Air Canada’s passenger service to the country and bolsters the cargo presence to offer consistent year-round capacity for our key customers in the region,” said Jon Turner, vice president, cargo at Air Canada.
“We are pleased to be able to continue expanding our freighter network as more Boeing 767s come online for us.”

Air Canada Cargo’s flights to San José are the latest addition to its worldwide freighter network, following recently launched freighter services to Basel, Liege, Dallas, Atlanta and Bogota.
Earlier this month, Air Canada Cargo took delivery of two newbuild 767-300Fs.
The two factory-built freighters are in addition to eight 767-300s that are being converted for Air Canada Cargo operations.
The 767-300Fs allow Air Canada Cargo to offer five different maindeck configurations, increasing the overall cargo capacity of each aircraft to nearly 58 tonnes or 438 cu m, with approximately 75% of this capacity on the maindeck.
Air Canada Cargo is also due to take delivery of two newbuild 777Fs in 2024.
