Air Incheon begins Haikou service

Cargo airline Air Incheon has begun twice-weekly flights linking Incheon International Airport in South Korea with Haikou, the capital of the Chinese island province of Hainan.
This is the first all-cargo route opened by the Chinese city’s Meilan International airport in 2023, according to China’s official state news agency, Xinhua.
Xinhua and Air Incheon have not specified the type of aircraft being used, however Air Incheon currently operates a fleet of four B737-800Fs.
Volumes are expected to surpass 30 tonnes per round trip, exporting mainly general cargo, e-commerce cargo, parcels and flowers, and importing mostly duty-free goods.
Air Incheon specialises in project cargo and is focused on the Russian Far East market, in addition to routes to Japan, China and Mongolia.
This year, Hainan has operated an average of 18 cargo flights per week, with an approximate total international inbound and outbound cargo volume of 958 tonnes.
In January, MSC Air Cargo added a new service between Incheon International and Indianapolis in the US as it continues to roll out operations.
