Cargolux expands Brazil network with Rio de Janeiro

A pre-Olympics airfreight boom to games’ host Brazil will see European carrier Cargolux return to Rio de Janeiro with a B747 full freighter service starting in March.
The flight continues to Viracopos before returning to Europe.
Luxembourg-based Cargolux said: "The return to Rio was driven by growing demand for pre-Olympic Games freight capacity between March and August. The Olympic Summer Games 2016 will take place from August 5 to August 21 and shippers have already expressed interest in using the expertise of Cargolux for their valuable equipment.
"In addition, Cargolux expects to carry car parts and spares, chemicals, electrical goods, consolidated freight and household goods on its services to Rio de Janeiro."
Alongside Viracopos/São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Cargolux also serves the Brazilian gateways Manaus, Petrolina and Curitiba.
