Cargolux ramps up Xiamen freighter flights

Cargolux B747-400F in Xiamen

Freighter operator Cargolux Airlines has launched a third weekly frequency to Xiamen to meet growing customer demand.

The new service, CV9721, is operated every Monday morning, departing Luxembourg at 8:10 with arrival in Xiamen on Tuesday at 4:40.

The return flight, CV9731, is scheduled to leave Xiamen at 6:15 and is routed through Los Angeles before returning to Luxembourg where it lands at 6:15.

Cargolux has been operating into Xiamen since 2006 with two weekly flights from Luxembourg on Wednesday and Friday arriving in the Chinese city on Thursday morning and Saturday morning.

“This additional China–US service cements Cargolux’s strong position in China and on transpacific trade lanes,” the airline said. “This additional frequency provides the only direct freighter connection between Xiamen and the US further broadening Cargolux’s extensive service offering.”

The main imports from Europe into Xiamen comprise a vast range of classic cargo as well as spare parts and semiconductor parts. The new frequency from Xiamen to Los Angeles will mainly support the export of clothing items and electronic goods.
