City Union Logistics moves transformers with nine charters

City Union Logistics has transported transformers weighing 900 tons in nine freighter charters for General Electric from Changzhou, China, to Cairo in Egypt.
The XLProjects member chartered four Antonov AN-124 flights and five with a Boeing 747F to move the 2,000 cu m load.
Said a spokesperson for XLProjects: "The project’s main features and challenges were to maintain the safety at all time, looking over every aspect of the move and to ensure quality work was followed during loading while on the tarmac.
"No aspect was overlooked, making sure that no issue arose with the local customs clearance and commodity inspections, adhering to the necessary safety check at the airport, including the magnetic inspection, chemical safe transportation test and certification."
