Aerolíneas Argentinas Cargo has received its first Boeing 737-800 Freighter at Ezeiza International Airport.

The aircraft, which has a cargo capacity of 23,900 kg, will carry both Argentine and regional products, and is part of a strategic logistics alliance between the flag-carrier and Grupo Mirgor – an Argentine company that produces electronics and automotive components, and exports agricultural products.

This is the first of two freighters of the same type that will join the Aerolíneas Argentinas fleet this year.

With the addition of this dedicated capacity, Aerolíneas Argentinas intends to grow its share of the cargo market. Grupo Mirgor will be the airline’s main partner initially, as reported in Air Cargo News sister publication Flight in January.

In 2022, Aerolíneas Argentinas transported large amounts of agricultural products including cherries, salmon, seeds and meat to the US, Europe the Middle East and other international destinations in the bellies of passenger flights.

“The new planes will allow a significant increase in cargo transport capacity,” the airline said.
