AerCap has signed lease agreements for four 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) aircraft with JD Airlines, the cargo airline of JD Logistics.

Scheduled for delivery in 2024, the aircraft will be operated on behalf of JD Logistics a supply chain service provider in China and a subsidiary of e-commerce platform JD.com.

The aircraft will be based in Nantong Xingdong International Airport and will operate routes between the major economic hubs of Nantong, Beijing, Shenzhen, Wuxi, as well as across Asia.

Dublin-headquartered AerCap currently has three 737-800BCF aircraft on lease to JD Airlines.

Rich Greener, head of AerCap Cargo, said: “We are delighted to announce this new agreement with JD Airlines, marking an exciting expansion of our business relationship. The addition of these four 737-800BCF aircraft to their fleet will enable JD Airlines to respond to the ever-growing demand for e-commerce and express deliveries.

“We wish the JD Airlines team continued success and look forward to many more years of successful collaboration.”

JD Logistics is a global provider of technology-driven supply chain and logistics services. Established as a dedicated business group of JD.com in April 2017, JD Logistics serves a wide range of businesses and individual consumers across China.

AerCap has more than 30 years’ experience in freighter leasing, including Passenger-to-Freighter (P2F) conversions. The company serves approximately 300 customers in countries across the world.

Bahrain-based cargo airline Texel Air recently leased a 737-800BCF from AerCap that will be used for charter operations and replaces its oldest aircraft, the Boeing 737-300F.

Late last year, Spanish airline Swiftair also signed lease agreements for two A321 Passenger to Freighter (P2F) aircraft with AerCap, introducig Airbus freighters into its fleet for the first time.
