Jim Crane joins Cargojet board

Cargojet has appointed James Crane, known as Jim, as a chairman of the board.

“We welcome Jim Crane to his new role as Chairman of Cargojet’s board.  We will continue to will seek his guidance, forward thinking, entrepreneurial insights and contributions to the continued growth of Cargojet," said Ajay Virmani, president and chief executive of the airline.
“We are excited to have Jim move into this role; his valuable insights will continue to be significant to Cargojet’s growth strategy in the years to come."

I look forward in continuing to assist the team to create greater shareholder value,” added Jim Crane, president and chief executive of Crane Capital Group and chairman of Crane Worldwide Logistics.
Crane is well known in the logistics industry having started what was to become EGL, later taken over by Ceva. He is also owner of baseball team the Houston Astros, which last year won the World Series, and played a key role in launching Crane Worldwide.
