The Romanian Civil Aviation Authority (RCAA) has reinstated ROM Cargo’s air operator certificate (AOC).
A statement was issued by the RCAA on December 16 that confirmed the airline’s certificate had been revoked but did not specify a reason why.
The RCAA has not issued any further statements on its website or responded to Air Cargo News’ request for comment, however, BoardingPass has reported it has learnt from unofficial sources that a lack of administrative documents led to the suspension.
This issue was resolved and a few days later the airline’s AOC was reinstated.
Indeed, flight tracking website FlightRadar 24 shows that on December 18 a Boeing 747-400 freighter (YR-FSA) registered to the airline completed a flight from Bishkek to Madrid.
Romania-headquartered Rom Cargo Airlines only acquired its air operators’ certificate at the beginning of November to enable it to begin international Boeing 747-400 freighter services.
Air One Aviation was subsequently appointed ROM Cargo’s exclusive Global Sales & Services partner.
Air Cargo News has requested comment from Air One Aviation.
