Chinese cargo airline SF Airlines has expanded its fleet to 85 freighters.
A Boeing 767-300 freighter has been added to the fleet, becoming the eighth new aircraft unveiled by SF Airlines this year, according to Xinhua.
The freighter is due to be used in the air-express delivery market, serving the upcoming Double 11 shopping spree and other logistics peaks.
Headquartered in Shenzhen, SF Airlines is the aviation branch of China’s courier enterprise SF Express. Its air cargo service network covers Asia, Europe and North America.
The airline has been rapidly expanding its fleet and routes recently.
Last month, SF Airlines launched a new route between Shenzhen and Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea.
SF Airlines also recently launched a route between China’s first cargo airport Ezhou Huahu and Abu Dhabi International.
Ezhou Huahu Airport officially opened in July last year and is promoted as China’s first “professional cargo hub airport”.
In July, SF Airlines launched a twice-weekly service from Ezhou Huahu to Frankfurt using a 747-400 freighter, to join its first European service from the cargo airport, which calls at Liege.
The SF Airlines fleet includes 747-400ERFs, 767-300BCFs, 757-200Fs, and 737-300/400Fs.
The airline has added an average of six freighters to its fleet each year since its launch in 2009.
