Silk Way to acquire An-124

Ilyushin Finance (IFC) says it has inked terms of delivery with Azerbaijan-based Silk Way Airlines for delivery of an An-124-100 freighter, previously operated by Russia’s Polet airline.
The aircraft will join Silk Way’s fleet of Ilyushin IL-76 and An-12 freighters. IFC said in a statement, “it will be a sound milestone of the airline’s development, boosting its capabilities and competitive advantages at global cargo markets.”
In April this year, the US and Azerbaijan signed an open skies agreement for the liberalisation of air transport market between the two countries.
