TAAG Angola Airlines and Network Airline Management (NAM) have renewed their long-term freighter aircraft contract “for the foreseeable future” and have restarted flights to Luanda.

TAAG Angola, the largest carrier in the south-west African country, is to resume its regular weekly service between Liege, Belgium and the capital with a NAM Boeing 747-400F nose-loading freighter offering up to 120,000 kilos capacity. It will operate every Friday to the new Dr António Agostinho Neto International Airport in Luanda, Angola.

NAM provides a 747-400F aircraft with nose door capability which carries up to 120,000 kilos of cargo on its core flight schedule.

NAM commercial director, Andy Walters, noted: “We are delighted to have renewed this contract with TAAG once again, resuming our partnership with TAAG Angola Airlines. We provide the capacity to carry heavy and oversized cargo on our main deck freighter aircraft, as well as pieces up to 20 metres in length via the aircraft’s nose door.”

NAM operates a fleet of B747F aircraft, handling over 150,000 tonnes of cargo a year worldwide on its scheduled routes and charter services.

TAAG Angola Airlines now flies to 12 domestic and 13 international passenger and cargo destinations.

The airline recently began operating regular cargo flights from Dr. Antonio Agostinho Neto International Airport.

A weekly cargo service departs from Luanda every Monday and connects Angola to regional destinations in Lagos, Nigeria (LOS) and Brazzaville, Republic of Congo (BZV).

The airline is carrying out these flights using its leased 737-800BCF (Boeing Converted Freighter), which was delivered in December.
