IAG Cargo in charitable transport of blankets and sleeping bags

IAG Cargo has transported a charitable collection of blankets and sleeping bags from across the IAG family for special causes in Kenya.
IAG Cargo shipped 4 pallets of 400 cabin blankets and 150 crew sleeping bags from London to Nairobi for Kenyan school children in need.
The donation traveled 4,255 miles and arrived in time to help keep children warm this winter.
IAG Cargo worked closely with The Order of Malta, an organisation that cares for people in need through its medical, social and humanitarian works, and Blankets4Africa, an organisation that works with charities to distribute blankets to those most in need.
IAG Cargo chief executive Drew Crawley said: “We understand the difference these blankets can make during the cold months and knowing that they will be put to good use to those who need them most really resonates with our staff.
“We have reached out to both our airline and trucking partners to make this shipment possible and are extremely thankful for all of the support given.”
Sister Maria Rosa at Amani na Wema Children’s Home added: “We express our immense gratitude for your support to our orphanage through you donation of blankets.
“We depend on donations such as these, as all of our children have lost their parents and depend on support received by donors. We are hugely grateful and wish you all a very happy festive season.”
