LAN CARGO ships polo thoroughbreds

LAN CARGO has transported 50 polo horses from Miami to Madrid, on one of its B777 freighters.
The Argentine thoroughbreds, which are competing in the international polo season at Sotogrande, Spain, were shipped in purpose-built stables designed by Newport Cargo (Argentina).
The whole operation was overseen by Colt International (USA).
On arrival, Spanish carrier Iberia deployed a 10-strong team, along with 20 pallet trucks to transport the stables and the horses from the aircraft to waiting lorries, so they could continue their journey to Sotogrande.
“At LAN Cargo, we face challenges like these almost on a daily basis. We have transported rhinos, giraffes, elephants, dolphins and even wallabies in the past,” states Cristián Ureta, chief executive of the LATAM Airlines Group.
