14 / 06 / 2018
Chile-based LATAM Cargo Group is implementing a new end-to-end cargo management system, CROAMIS, developed by global IT, consulting and business process services company Wipro.
The next-generation system is expected to be completely deployed by 2020 and will replace several existing systems, thereby increasing efficiency.
Covering all business functionalities, from planning to money collection, it will equip the airline’s customers with a new tracking system, as well as self-service tools such as e-booking, e-claims and e-rates.
LATAM Cargo chief executive Andrés Bianchi said: “Having a robust, modern and efficient technological platform is essential to remain competitive in today’s air cargo industry.
“Wipro’s CROAMIS cargo management solution will not only allow us to satisfy our customers’ current needs, but also will enable us to meet future challenges. In addition, deploying this new system will increase our reliability and optimise our cost structure.
“The CROAMIS platform meets all our requirements to take a big leap forward in our domestic and international markets,” he said, adding that as well transforming the carrier’s internal operations, the new system will offer greater autonomy and transparency to its customers."
Wipro vice president and global head – travel, transportation, hospitality and public sector industries Deviprasad Rambhatla said: “With CROAMIS, we are bringing about digital transformation usually seen only in the passenger side of the airline industry to the world of air cargo.”
