Avianca Cargo has unveiled a new brand identity and announced a new partnership with a climate technology company.

This new brand concept of “Avianca Cargo, we are doing it for you” aims to reflect the airline’s focus on customer needs and long-term partnerships and was unveiled on November 13 at the TIACA Air Cargo Forum in Miami.

Avianca Cargo also launched a real-time platform that enables clients to monitor, track, and offset carbon emissions from cargo transport, supporting environmental projects in Latin America. The platform was developed in partnership with climate technology company CHOOOSE.

Avianca Group reported its third quarter results on November 8. Cargo revenues during the third quarter were $138m year over year “as a result of Latin America’s cargo import market recovery and fleet renewal”.

Avianca Cargo said that it increased its network load factor by over 5% year on year during the quarter. The business added that recent investments in infrastructure at its main terminals in Miami and Bogotá have increased peak season capacity by 83% and improved average turnaround efficiency by 20%.

The airline’s fleet investments to improve payload and flexibility for medium-range routes, improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions have included four Airbus A330-300/200 P2F aircraft. The first joined the airline’s commercial partner AeroUnion in July. Two more are due to arrive in 2025 and the final is anticipated to be delivered in 2026.

On November 3, in partnership with Turkish Airlines, Avianca Cargo launched a new Liège-Miami service.

The move follows the signing in April 2023 of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the airlines. Under the agreement, the two airlines said they would explore potential cooperation opportunities and strengthen air cargo connections, combining their resources and expertise.

“Our transformation has now positioned us as one of the six best cargo airlines of the world,” stated Diogo Elias, senior vice president of Avianca Cargo. “We’ve enhanced our service levels, upgraded our fleet and revamped our product offerings, all while ensuring a more consistent and efficient operation. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to meet every requirement and solution our customers seek, enabling them to grow their businesses.”
