Ray Jewell retires from Cathay Pacific Cargo

Cathay Pacific regional head of cargo Europe Ray Jewell has retired after 35 years working with the airline.
Jewell has headed up the airline’s cargo department in Europe for the last 18 years and will be replaced by Jansen Stafford, previously country manager Spain.
Jewell, referred to as the godfather of cargo at his leaving event, said he would relax, spend more time at his home in Italy and sail.
He added that he is most proud of the yield and load factors the airline has been able to achieve, along with the quality of service and special product offerings it has developed.
Stafford, who will be based in London, said: "I inherit from [Jewell] a great team whose combined efforts this year have lead to double-digit growth in volume, revenue and yield.
"We will be working with agents to raise our profile in the specialist-shipment segment, especially pharmaceutical products."
He added that the team would be looking to develop the cargo potential of Europe’s new destinations, particularly Brussels and Dublin, and help to further establish Barcelona now it has moved to a year-round route.
