Swissport lands Oman Air ground handling role

Swissport International is to take over Oman Air’s cargo handling at London Heathrow, Munich, Frankfurt and Paris Charles de Gaulle. It will take over full cargo handling services for Oman Air at London Heathrow on 3 September followed by a phased transition at the other three stations, with completion by 1 November.
The carrier’s chief officer service delivery, Andrew Walsh, said: “Oman Air heavily relies on the punctuality and reliability of the quality standards of its ground and cargo handlers. After a careful review we are confident that Swissport will be the right partner in supporting us towards our journey to become the best."
Executive vice president global cargo services at the handler, Nils Knudsen, said the move “shows Swissport’s dedication to highest performance and quality. We are very much looking forward to developing our global relationship with Oman Air and establishing a fruitful partnership in the coming years.”
Both parties will benefit from increased standardisation in process flows with a common service level agreement and KPI measurements.
